Zacatecas, Mexico

The name Zacatecas comes from the Nahuatl, zacatl meaning grass and co meaning place: "place where the grass is plentiful".

It is located in the northern central region of Mexico and is bounded by Coahuila, San Luis Potosí, Aguascalientes, Jalisco and Durango.

The quaint beauty of Zacatecas can be seen in its colonial buildings, baroque-styled cathedrals, and cobblestone streets which make visitors feel they are transported to Europe’s Medieval Age.

According to historians, the city used to be a flourishing industrial district with itssilver mines which were discovered during the 16 century. However, the place has been transformed into a virtual museum with its colonial structures that show the grandeur of the past.

Chiapas - a state in southeast of Mexico. This green strip of Mexico contains one of the most complex biotic diversities in the country. It has mountain ranges, rivers, volcanoes, plains, canyons, waterfalls, lakes, cloud forests, coast and Savannah. Much of its territory is considered a nature reserve, and supports an astonishing range of flora and fauna.

It has two of the largest, most spectacular rivers in the country, the Grijalva and the Usumacinta.

Veracruz State is located in the eastern part of Mexico and it is one of the most modern states and productive of Mexico.The Mexican State of Veracruz has it all. The State encompasses grazing land for beef production and dairy products coastal area for seafood, inland areas for tropical fruits and vegetables.

Jalapa, Veracruz, is a city whose charms are best explored on foot. The city center offers short, winding streets decorated with flowering vines, houses that evoke centuries past, and a large shady park.

Zempoala (or Cempoala), the archaeological ruins north of Veracruz, Mexico was the Totonac capital and the largest city on the Gulf of Mexico. The name means "place of the 20 waters," for the several rivers that converge near the site.

If witches interest you then a visit to the lakeside town of Catemaco, Veracruz is a must. From the natural beauty of the magnificent landscape to the Festival of Witches held in the town of Catemaco each Spring, there's plenty to see and do during this celebration of the equinox.

The Annual Gathering of Witches takes place in early March and draws “healers” from all over Mexico. For well over a century this community has had a tradition as a place to come to search for healing or for charms or curses to protect your self against bad luck and your enemies. Local mythology has it that the community has been a power center for supernatural events since long before the ancient Olmec brought civilization to the wild untamed rain forests of the region.

The community's celebrated "High Council" consists of a dozen or more wizards who are said to perform acts of both black and white magic.

During the yearly festival adventure travelers will find plenty of local food and entertainment. There are parades and processions through the streets with special dances and gatherings.

This picturesque town sits on the edge of the lake from which it derives its name. The lake was formed from the crater of a volcano and is home to fish eating baboons.

Sinaloa, Mexico

Sinaloa - it is located in the region of the Pacific Coast in the northwestern part of Mexico. In hot weather, this entity offers interesting attractions and beautiful cities rich in tradition and culture, as the Port of Mazatlan, where you can appreciate the harmonious combination of traditional architecture in its Historic Center, and the beautiful beaches, delicious restaurants and hotels the Golden Zone.

Culiacan, the state capital, with interesting buildings and cultural centers offers great dishes of meat and shrimp that identify creative and delicious cuisine.

In the city of Los Mochis, located in the middle of an important agricultural region, you can visit their sugar, while in the Bay of Topolobampo may conduct a walk around the Farallon Island, home to thousands of sea lions and birds.

At Redo, Baradit and San Juan, great to practice several water sports, as well as the observation of flora and fauna, allowing you to enjoy contact with nature in the region.

Chihuahua is a city of contrast located in a dry and sandy area. It is a refulgent capital in the middle of the desert in the north of the country bordering the US. This city is known for its temples of colonial origin, buildings of a van-garde lines, hundred of assembly industries, and its cowboy boots exhibited in some shops.

Chihuahua’s colonial center is filled with beautiful colonial buildings, mansions, and palaces. Most of these are open to the public as well as the fine museums.

Chihuahua stands on the U.S.-Mexico border, bounded on the north by the U.S. states of Texas and New Mexico and, to the east of Ciudad Juárez, by the Río Bravo del Norte (Rio Grande). The states of Sonora and Sinaloa border it on the west, Durango on the south, and Coahuila on the east.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

As a frequent visitor to Puerto Vallarta we had plenty of time to explore and get to know the place - the beaches are beautiful, people are friendly and weather is absolutely wonderful. We took the bus trip into Puerto Vallarta several times people there were great several times a guitar playing and singing local boarded the bus and everyone was serenaded for the whole trip. The shopping and the bartering was fun and the cobblestone streets and wonderful old architecture was amazing.
